The Xiaomi Redmi A5 4G is in an unusual situation. While it hasn’t been officially announced yet, the device is already available for purchase in stores across Bangladesh. It remains unclear whether Xiaomi plans a formal unveiling, but reports suggest that the phone is preparing for a European launch. It may arrive under the Poco C71 name, but the hardware appears to remain the same.

The Xiaomi Redmi A5 4G packs a 6.88-inch LCD display with a 120Hz refresh rate and 720p+ resolution, boasting a peak brightness of 1,500 nits. Under the hood, it runs on the Unisoc T7250 chipset, paired with LPDDR4X RAM and eMMC 5.1 storage. In Bangladesh, the phone is available in two variants: 4GB RAM with 64GB storage for BDT 11,000 and 6GB RAM with 128GB storage for BDT 13,000.

For photography, the device features a 32MP main camera and an 8MP front-facing shooter. Powering it all is a 5,200mAh battery with support for 18W charging. Other notable features include a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, Bluetooth 5.2, a USB Type-C port, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a microSD card slot for expandable storage. The phone measures 171.7 x 77.8 x 8.26mm and weighs 193g. It comes with Android 15 Go Edition pre-installed.

According to reports, the European market may receive a different storage variant—4GB RAM with 128GB storage—priced at €149. However, it’s unclear whether a charger will be included in the package. In Bangladesh, the device comes with a 15W charger.
